Unforgetable Fear Factor Experience At Universal Studios

October 9, 2006

If you are planning to visit Universal Studios on your vacation in Florida, you might want to check out the Fear Factor! Read more about it in this article:

Have you always dreamt of participating in a reality show ?
Here is your chance. Fear Factor Live is a stunt show at the
Universal Studios Tours where volunteers are from the audience
! Since there are three to five shows held everyday, chances
are good that you might just be able to take part in it.

Of course there are a few things to know and remember before
you take part in the stunt show. First, this is not a mock
show. The fears are real and no simulated Fear Factor in this
show. And the stunts are performed by members of the audience
just like you. So if you are faint-hearted, better not attempt.

If you think you have the guts to go ahead and take part, visit
the casting office, located near the Terminator ride, in the
theme park. There are some physical standards that have to be
met, which stands guarantee that you can handle the tasks
assigned to you. You have to even sign a liability form which
relieves Universal Studios and Fear Factor of any obligation,
in case of any injuries or damages that may occur.

Before the actual show begins, those members of the audience
who were not selected to participate are called on stage and
some similar challenges are thrown, like eating insects and
bugs. The winner of the pre-show contest is awarded wonderful
prizes, like an annual pass to the theme park. Then there is an
audience warm-up to build the excitement by the hosts of the
show.

There are six participants in the show – all chosen from the
casting office. Their dress code is just like the original Fear
Factor dress – tight uniforms. Then a line-up of challenges,
again like the Fear Factor challenges are thrown at the
contestants. These include falling from a height, skill tests
and of course the well-known gross-out challenge. While the
show is on, a member of audience is picked up for yet another
challenge, like putting your head in a tank which is replete
with scorpions.

After watching Fear Factor, if you have bragged to your friends
that it was easy for you and you could easily handle all those
stunts yourself – watch out. It could be that you prove
yourself right or your friends could prove you wrong. This is
your life-time opportunity to participate in the Fear Factor
Live show at the Universal Studios Tours, and prove your
mettle. Go and meet the casting office as soon as you can but
make sure that you meet all their physical requirements. In
case you don’t, ask for being part of the audience.

Florida Vacations guest article – Things You Must Know Before Going On An International Trip

October 7, 2006

Hope you enjoy this article. Not strictly about Florida Vacations, but an informative read.

================== ARTICLE START ==================
When preparing for a trip out of the country, you will have to
worry about a lot of things. Not only are there items such as
your passport to be concerned with, but you also have to think
about your money, which means you’re going to have research
exchange rates in order to make sure you bring enough money
along with you on your trip.

You will find that no matter what country you travel to, their
currency is remarkably different from American currency in
regards to details such as style, color and texture, but even
more importantly – value.

You have a few options to choose from when you are traveling,
in which to exchange your money. The exchange rate changes
daily because it is based off the markets of every county, so
what you might have received for $20 yesterday, may not be the
same today (and as a side note, don’t be shocked when you find
that your American money is worth far less in other countries,
the strength of the American dollar is greatly diminished in
today’s market).

For this reason, you are going to want to research ahead before
flying to make sure you bring enough money. You can also keep
things simple by using travel checks, but this is not always
feasible for everyone. Also, don’t forget to account for the
fee you will have to pay when exchanging currency, especially
if you do it at a bank. This fee alone can be a little
exorbitant which is why more and more people are opting to use
travelers checks or credit cards when traveling; if you opt to
use credit cards make sure you carry the big three: Visa,
MasterCard and American Express. By doing this you won’t have
to worry about any restaurants or stores not accepting your
cards.

Aside from knowing the exchange rate, it is also important you
understand the currency of the country in which you are
visiting. You may become very confused when shopping in a
foreign country. Make it a point to know the country’s money
system and be able to read price tags.

International travel is a big undertaking, as well as a big
responsibility. This type of travel can be great fun and a
wonderful life experience, but it is important that you go into
it prepared, both with common sense and plenty of money. If it
is your first time traveling out of the country, you are going
to find this task a bit awkward and frustrating at first, but
it gets easier and easier, and eventually becomes a task you
never forget how to do properly. Stay informed for the sake of
your money and the unique experience your trip will provide
you.
